This letter responds to, and agrees with, another letter submitted by Scott Tomlin of Degussa, which was published in our December 2005 issue.

These two readers, both important members of the nonwovens industry, have created a great—and very public—dialogue on a valuable and meaningful issue that is on the minds of nearly every nonwovens executive. Ms. Kozubska and Mr. Tomlin have taken the opportunity to share with their industry their thoughts on rising prices of petroleum-based products and how these increases will impact the future of nonwovens.
Certainly, this topic is something that has been discussed at length in many conference rooms, trade show floors, board rooms and even in the pages of this very magazine, but by submitting a letter to the editor of Nonwovens Industry, these two readers have been able to share their thoughts on the topic with thousands of colleagues around the world. Submitting a letter to the editor is a free and effective way of sharing your thoughts, opinions or even your complaints with the industry, and yet we seldom receive letters from our many readers. However, the recent dialogue concerning petroleum prices from two major raw material providers has encouraged me to encourage you to use this public forum to your advantage. Nonwovens Industry wants to hear from you! Is there something on your mind that you would like to share with our readers? It could be concerning something as broad as raw material prices or something more personal like a thank you to a colleague or fellow company for a business partnership well done. The nonwovens industry prides itself on being a close-knit, personable industry and we want our magazine to reflect this. So, if you have something on your mind, or if you just want to give a shout out to the industry, send us a letter. And, we’ll publish it. Karen Bitz McIntyre Editor [email protected]
